On 8 October 2026, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted the republican scientific and practical conference “Current Issues in Paediatric Practice”, dedicated to the memory of Professor I. M. Lysenko.
The conference brought together Belarusian and international specialists for a multidisciplinary forum with international participation. Discussions took place not only at Vitebsk State Medical University but also at the Vitebsk Regional Children’s Clinical Centre.
Opening the conference, VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov noted that forums of this kind are particularly important for preserving the continuity of scientific schools and bringing specialists together to address current challenges in paediatrics.
The programme included more than 50 presentations across five sessions: current issues in paediatrics, neonatology, paediatric allergy, preventive medicine and medical and social rehabilitation in paediatrics, and infectious diseases in children.
Participants discussed modern approaches to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of childhood diseases, challenges in paediatric allergy, and current aspects of medical rehabilitation and infectious diseases in paediatric practice. Particular attention was paid to interdisciplinary cooperation, the implementation of new clinical guidelines, and improving medical care for children at every stage.
Presentations were delivered by specialists from the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, and other CIS countries. The participation of international colleagues highlighted the importance of international cooperation in addressing current challenges in paediatric science and practice.
The forum confirmed its status as an important scientific platform bringing together specialists from different countries.
