Twenty Years of Beauty and Health: VSMU Clinic’s Department of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology Celebrates Its Anniversary

On 9 October 2026, VSMU Clinic held a celebratory event marking the 20th anniversary of its Department of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology.

The event was attended by department staff, distinguished guests, representatives of the VSMU administration, and people who had helped establish the department or headed it over the years.

The rector’s address and congratulations from VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov were delivered by First Vice-Rector Alina Shchupakova. The address noted that over the past two decades, the department has become one of the leaders in aesthetic and surgical services, and that its staff have made a significant contribution to the development of medical science and practice.

Many warm words were shared by those who had headed the department over the years. They recalled how the department had developed, how its traditions had taken shape, and how invaluable experience had been accumulated. They expressed gratitude to those who laid the foundations and offered words of encouragement to the current generation of specialists.

The high quality of the team’s work was also recognised through awards. Several employees received Letters of Appreciation from the Chair of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, as well as Certificates of Merit from the VSMU Staff Trade Union Committee.

In recognition of its high level of professionalism and the quality of its medical services, and to mark the 20th anniversary of its opening, the Department of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology at VSMU Clinic was awarded a Certificate of Merit by Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University.

Today, the department provides qualified surgical care using short-stay treatment technology, performs outpatient operations and procedures, and offers consultations to patients from the city, the region, and neighbouring countries. Its areas of practice include phlebology, plastic surgery, injection cosmetology, laser cosmetology, aesthetic cosmetology, ENT surgery, and lymphology.

The department looks to the future with confidence, continuing its proud traditions and reaffirming its status as one of the region’s leading centres for plastic surgery and cosmetology.
