Demographic Challenges and Ways to Address Them: Unified Information Day Held at VSMU

On September 15, 2026, VSMU held information meetings as part of the Unified Information Day on “Traditional Belarusian Values: Family, Society, State.” The event covered all faculties – the Faculty of General Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Pediatrics, and the Faculty of Pharmacy – as well as departments, structural units, clinical training sites, and student dormitories.

Speakers discussed a range of important issues in detail. Particular attention was paid to current demographic challenges and the measures being taken in Belarus to address them. Participants learned about statistics on the number of children in Belarusian families, the Family Capital programme, and the legal protection system for families, motherhood, fatherhood, and childhood.

The discussion highlighted that the family remains a fundamental value in Belarusian society and that the state supports it through legislation and social policy. It also helped participants develop a comprehensive understanding of the role traditional values play in society’s development and in strengthening the state.
