VI Chemical Olympic student Games

white pill2VI Chemical Olympic student Games were held on October 21-23, 2016, in the city of Zelenogorsk, not far from St. Petersburg. This year the Games have received the international status, and the team of our University for the first time participated in this competition.

The drawing procedure took place on arrival day, and our team got the red shirts, and following tasks were assigned: to invent a team name and greeting, to draw a flag and to appoint the captain, as well as to compose the Olympics anthem. The rest of the evening we spent in implementing these tasks ... Only around 2am, tired, some of us in paint, some with the melody and words of the hymn kept in the head, we went to bed.

The first day of competition was a success for us: a video about Vitebsk caused a lot of positive comments and feedback. Many recalled the jokes from this video before the end of competition... Competitions from sponsors were quite different – starting from puzzles about movies to chemical formulas. Not everything went smoothly, but our team showed cohesion - we were happy with victories and shared unsuccess. We came up with great enthusiasm to one of competitions by offering the "Year of Health campaign". The main idea of it is that in a certain day of a month, while purchasing medicines for a certain amount, the customer will receive a complimentary visit to a medical specialist as a present. Each month had its own doctor: January –dietarian, February – venereologist, April - allergist, etc. Now we will try to implement this proposal in our "VGMU" pharmacy... Then there was a competition of captains – difficult tenological-strategic game. And our captain, Daria Sulkovskaya, remarkably coped with it. The intellectual game "What? Where? When?" completed the competitive day. The questions were not too easy, many of them even controversial, but the team managed to get together and make a solid number of points, taking the second place in this competition. Then we were surprised by our sponsors - fireworks on the shore of the Gulf of Finland! It was unforgettable: night bay, the sand and the lights in the sky ... Those who wished to continue the evening went to a festive disco ...

At 10:30 of the second competition day "The race of heroes" started - a team sport relay race with a variety of tasks: we had to ran through the woods, crawled on the sand, climbed trees, climbed over the barriers (sometimes very high), pulled heavy weights and many other things...The main thing we were as one: helping each other, not letting fall down in spirit to those who seemed to have no more strength left - we were a single organism! And, as a result, in the sports program we took the first place, 50 points out of 50 possible!

At 2pm the solemn closing of the games was held. Our victory was a surprise for all - yet never the visiting team, taking part in these Games for the first time, managed to take the gold medal from the hosts. It was very nice and touching when, during the awarding ceremony, the whole audience chanted: "BELARUS! BELARUS!”. I think that we have made lots of good friends, not only in St. Petersburg, but also in Perm, and Pyatigorsk. Such moments are etched in memory for long.

We are WINNERS of VI Chemical Olympic student Games!
