Enrollment procedure for those wishing to pursue I and II-level postgraduate education

In accordance with the planned figures for admission to pursue postgraduate education at the expense of the republican budget for 2017-2018 academic year, established by the order of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus dated June 08, 2017 № 168, the education establishment "Vitebsk State Medical University" announces the admission for those who wish to pursue I and II-level postgraduate education  in following specialties:

Postgraduate education of  1- level:

Enrollment procedure:

The admission for pursuing I and II-level postgraduate education will be carried out on a competitive basis in accordance with Chapter 4 of the "Regulations for training of highly qualified scientists in the Republic of Belarus" approved by the Decree №561 of the President of the Republic of Belarus on 1 December 2011.

Those applying to pursue 1-level postgraduate education should have:

• inclination for scientific research, confirmed by scientific publications, participation in research and innovation projects, conferences or other materials;

• practical experience of at least two years in positions which require the higher education, or a recommendation of the University Council (for applicants who graduated from the university this year);

• certificate of passing the candidate examinations and tests on general educational disciplines (for applicants of post-graduate studies for full-time or part-time courses);

• those applying for postgraduate study in part-time form and in the competitive-base form must have at least two years of practical experience holing positions which require the higher education;

• To pursue the I-level postgraduate education in the field of medical science those are accepted who received a higher education in the sphere of "Healthcare" awarded the "Physician" qualification. In the group of specialties "Clinical medicine", those with higher medical education can pursue the postgraduate course who have been trained in internships and have worked for at least two years in practical work for a specialty received, or having received a recommendation from the University Council in accordance with the "Instruction on the procedure for issuing recommendations for Admission to postgraduate school (graduate military course) in the scientific specialties of the group of specialties "Clinical Medicine" without training in an internship and (or) two years of experience work agreed by the Ministry of Health of Belarus” approved by Order № 587 of the MoH of RB dated 29 May 2014.

Applicants pursuing the II-level postgraduate education (doctorate study) should have:

• Scientific degree of Candidate of Science;

• to be authors of scientific articles, as well as other materials based on results of scientific research (monographs, materials relating to intellectual property objects registered in accordance with the established procedure, materials and / or abstracts at conferences, reports on research and development, acts (certificates) on their use, confirming participation in the implementation of state programs of scientific research, scientific and technical programs and innovative projects in priority areas of scientific and investigations or the priority directions of scientific and technical activities), which are the basis for a doctoral thesis with the possibility of its completion within three years.

Applicants shall submit the following documents:

• application of a standard form in the name of the rector of the university;

• a personal list of personnel records (certified by the last place of work or study);

• hand-written autobiography;

• a medical certificate in the form established by the Ministry of Health for applicants to universities;

• two photos;

• list and copies of published scientific works; inventions, patents and a list of reports on research and development carried out;

• an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the University Council (for admission in the year of graduation from this university);

• a copy of the diploma of higher education and a copy of the statement from the academic record;

• a transcript (copy) from the work record book (for employed);

• certificate of passing the candidate examinations for applicants pursuing  I-level postgraduate education in the full-time or part-time courses;

• a copy of the candidate's degree (for applicants for the II-level postgraduate education)

• an application copy for training those who pretend to study at the request of the client organizations;

• a passport and diploma of higher education institution are presented personally.

Admission to postgraduate and doctoral studies is carried out on a competitive basis.
