On October 15, 2023, the Hindu religious festival “Navaratri Puja” took place in the assembly hall of hostel No. 2. The event was attended by students from Sri Lanka and India of different faiths. But elements of a common ancient culture united the students, and the spiritual atmosphere delighted everyone present. At the end of the holiday, the student organizers treated the crowd to national dishes called “Prasad”.

On October 11 – 13, 2023, the GrSMU hosted a table tennis tournament for the University Rector’s Cup. Students from all medical universities of our country took part in the event. VSMU was represented at the competition by the team of boys: Dmitry Gromov (6 MF), Andrey Zhilich (5 MF), Vladislav Postolov (3 MF), Ilya Kapitonov (3 SF) and the team of girls: Ekaterina Lavitskaya (5 PhF), Veronika Denisik (4 PhF ), Kristina Pogodkina (3 MF), Valeria Kayukalo (3 SF) led by coach Alexander Minin, senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Education at VSMU.

On October 14, 2023, the Palace and Park Marathon “Discovery Nesvizh” took place in Nesvizh, bringing together more than 300 sports and healthy lifestyle lovers. Participants had the opportunity to choose the race distance: 6 km, 18 km and 42.1 km. VSMU was represented at the competition by the 4th year students of the Faculty of Dentistry Konstantin Vodnev and Daniil Petochenko, who successfully completed the marathon distance of 42.1 km.

On October 13, 2023, a meeting of students of the Sri Lankan community was held at VSMU. The employees of the Department of Сitizenship and Migration of the Pervomaisky District and the Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Vitebsk were invited to the event, who informed the students about the need to comply with the norms and rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus. The Community Council provided a report on the events held in the last academic year, and a new chairman of the largest community at the university and his team were also elected.

On October 16, 2023, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Organizational and Legal Work of Vitebsk State Medical University Denis Nikolaevich Lits has taken part in the ninth meeting of the Scientific and Educational Consortium of Higher Educational Establishments and Research Institutes of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus in online mode. At the meeting, reports were heard on the issues of modernization of university science: tasks and priorities of integration cooperation.
