On 26 – 27 April 2018, the rector of VSMU Professor A.T. Shchastniy visited Belgorod State National Research University (BelSU). BelSU is one of the leading universities in the Russian Federation, which consists of 7 institutes, 3 faculties and 2 branches. At the moment, more than 24,000 students from 85 regions of the Russian Federation and 79 countries of the world study at BelSU with more than 1,700 faculty members involved in training process.
Professor A.T. Shchastny got acquainted with the material and technical facilities of the university, visited the university-based medical institute and clinical sites.
The medical institute was founded in 2013 on the BelSU-based medical faculty and currently includes 4 faculties: medical, dental, pharmaceutical, postgraduate education and a medical college. About 4000 students from 46 countries of the world are trained at the medical institute.
The scientific infrastructure of the Institute includes the Preclinical and Clinical Research Center, the Interregional Center for Dental Innovations, the Scientific and Educational Center "Pharmacy", the Educational and Scientific Complex "Apteka BelGU", the multi-field polyclinic, the laboratories of molecular human genetics; immunohistochemistry; nanostructural studies in medicine, etc.
Within the framework of this visit, the rector of VSMU, Professor A.T. Shchastniy met with the rector of BelSU, Professor O.N. Polukhin. The director of the medical institute of BelSU, Professor V.F. Kulikovsky, Vice-Rector for International Relations of BelSU V.А. Kumchisty, Dean of Pharmaceutical Faculty Professor I.V. Spichak, and Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Work with Foreign Citizens of VSMU M.M. Savchuk took part in the meeting. The issues of inter-university cooperation within the framework of the concluded bilateral agreement were discussed. Special attention was devoted to academic mobility of students and faculty members.
On the eve of the great Victory Day, Professor A.T. Shchastniy visited the museum-diorama "Kursk battle. Belgorod direction" and laid floral tributes to the memorial complex" Eternal Flame ".
