According to the tradition that has developed at VSMU, the international event “Farewell-2024” (“Good journey, graduates of 2024!”) was held, organized by Sri Lankan students.

The event was held in a friendly atmosphere with fiery dancing, numerous competitions and musical performances. And interesting video clips reminded the children of the bright moments of their six years of study at VSMU.

On May 28, 2024, a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council was held, at which the reports for the 1st half of 2024 on the implementation of SPSR tasks were approved, the research project was reviewed and recommended for participation in the SPSR project competition, a monograph was recommended for publication, and candidates were nominated for participation in an open republican competition for the appointment of scholarships from the President of the Republic of Belarus to talented young scientists for 2025, as well as university staff were familiarized with the introduction into force of the Instruction on assessing the results of scientific activities of departments.

On May 28, 2024, a dialogue platform was held for the 1st year students of the Faculty of Pediatrics on the topic “Genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War” with the participation of the Deputy Head of the Department for Supervision of the Execution of Legislation in the Prosecutor’s Office of the Vitebsk Region, Senior Adviser of Justice I.V. Metelitsa. Igor Vladimirovich briefed those present on the progress of the investigation into the criminal case of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.

Chess competitions were held in Minsk as part of the program of the Republican Universiade - 2023/2024, at which the team of our university took a high 4th place.

The team included: Kristina Chicherova (2 MF), Ilya Shulyakovsky (5 MF), Meilis Orazmyradov (5 FOST), Yaroslav Syromolotov (6 MF), Victoria Lyashuk (1 MF).

We congratulate the university team and coach Alexander Aksentsov - senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education, on their successful performance in the competition. Keep it up, VSMU!

On May 24-25, 2024, the hero city of Brest hosted a gala concert of the Republican festival of artistic creativity of students “Art-vakatsi-2024”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
