From 5 to 9 December 9, 2017, the Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatrics of the VSMU Zhuravlyova Lyudmila Nikolayevna undertook a work experience at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Kaunas, within the framework of the state program of social development for 2016-2020.

The main part of the work experience was held on the basis of the neonatal and children's clinic "Kauno klinikos". The neonatal clinic, which specializes in providing assistance to premature babies, born before 34 weeks of gestation, is equipped with the latest diagnostic and medical equipment, and has a bank of donor breast milk. Specialists of the high qualification work in the clinic.

The years pass by, more and more experience you gain, more confident you find yourself in the profession you have chosen, higher and higher you climb the career ladder of success, and, no doubt, you recall with sadness and gratitude the university, the city of Vitebsk, and those people you spent 5 or 6 years together on Belarusian land.

In our thoughts, we also look back at the past, looking through old photos, remembering the most memorable moments, and we feel a great desire to know how the study at VSMU influenced your further life and professional activity, how your career developed, what goals you have already achieved and what plans you still pursue.

On 27 November 2017, the Chairman of the Higher Education Council of the Republic of Latvia, Mr. Janis Vetra, and the Consul - the Head of the Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Vitebsk, Mr. Ugis Skuja visited VSMU.

During their visit to VSMU, the guests became acquainted with the structure of our university, its material and technical facilities, the organization of the educational process at the departments of human anatomy and clinical microbiology, and also were shown the electronic library and anatomical museum.

The new norm of free receipt of parcels at the post-offices of the Republic of Belarus is working starting from the 14th of April, 2016. One person is allowed to get the property costing not more than 22 Euros and weighing up to 10 kilograms without payment. Parcels breaking the established limit are also allowed, but the exceeding amount is liable to customs duties and the payment of the fixed customs duties is also compulsory in this case.

These limitations are fixed in the Order of the President of the Republic of Belarus № 40 dated 11.02.2016.

On 16 November, 2017, a meeting of Indian students’ community with the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Belarus Mr. Pankaj Saksena was held. During this meeting, the issues of training of foreign citizens at VSMU and living conditions of Indian students were discussed. The problems voiced by the students were considered during the meeting of Mr. Pankaj Saksena with the VSMU administration. Plans and strategies of further cooperation between India and the Republic of Belarus in the field of science, medicine and education were also discussed.
