On March 2-3, the XV festival of creativity of foreign students “Friendship of Peoples” was held at the educational establishment “Belarusian-Russian University” in the city of Mogilev. Traditionally, FOST students from Sri Lanka took part in the festival with great pleasure. The “Mixfeeds” dance group delighted the audience with their unique colorful lovely dances “Fusion” and “Earned it”. Also, Randeniya Devin Chandula talentedly performed the song “The Seventh Petal” to the accompaniment of the guitar. All of them received 1^st place diplomas for their artistry.

On February 28 and March 1, 2023, university staff led by the rector of VSMU A.N. Chukanov took part in an online seminar held by specialists from the Republic of Cuba on the topics “For Vascular Surgeons” and “Use of Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor (Heberprot- P) as an Adjuvant Therapy”. The seminar was attended by Vice-Rector of Educational and Clinical Affairs A.N. Shchupakova, faculty of clinical departments of VSMU: vascular surgeons, endocrinologists, immunologists, and students of the laboratory of professional excellence. University staff and students actively participated in the discussion of reports, clinical situations and expressed their hope for further cooperation with specialists from the Republic of Cuba in the field of education, science and healthcare.

On February 10, 2023, a wonderful trip to the historical and cultural museum complex – Nesvizh and Mir Castles –  took place. 40 students from Sri Lanka, Nigeria, India, Lebanon, Maldives enjoyed the greatness, history and picturesque architecture of the national treasure of Belarus. The leaders of the group were the deputy dean of the OSTF Senkovich M.A. and the facilitator of the Department of Pedagogical Work with the Young Nazarev S.M.

On February 7, students of the Overseas Students Training Faculty visited the Astronomical Center of VSU named after P.M. Masherov. 

Each student had the opportunity to hold a real meteorite in their hands, look at the night sky of Vitebsk, get acquainted with the work of the stationary telescope-refractor AVR-3, the computerized telescope of the Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector Celestron.

On February 4, 2022, Sri Lanka celebrated its 75th Independence Day. A number of events dedicated to this event were organized at Grodno State Medical University. The celebration was attended by the Honorary Consul of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Yuryevich Ruzanov, the GrSMU administration, invited guests from other Belarusian medical universities, as well as representatives of compatriots. 15 students of the Sri Lankan community of VSMU also took part in this event.
