On November 26, on Channel ONT there was the fourth qualifying concert-show of talents from Vitebsk region called “Star Way”. From several dozen applicants, the producers chose the best non-professional vocalists, and only 5 participants from the region demonstrated their vocal abilities on TV. On Saturday evening, many residents of Orsha and Vitebsk were watching with a sinking heart a bright performance of the creative duo of Marina Shitkova, the otorhinolaryngologist of the Central Clinic in Orsha and Devin Randeniya, a 5th-year student of Vitebsk State Medical University.

The annual basketball tournament organized by the Sri Lankan students’ Union of VSMU was recently held, at the Vitebsk sports complex in Ludnikova Avenue. 

This year six boys teams and six girls teams participated in the competition representing their batches. Whilst being highly competitive, the tournament was played in the spirit of great sportsmanship.

On November 17-18, the final stage of the II Republican tournament of the intellectual game "ScienceQuiz" among the medical universities of our country was held at Grodno State Medical University. Three teams from each university, 12 teams in total, competed for the title of the best. For two hours, the participants answered questions on a variety of topics: from the geography of Belarus to world cinema. In a difficult and  hard-fought battle, the team of VSMU “Andjoy Korzina” took the honorable first place. Congratulations!

On November 17, 2022, VSMU hosted a mega show, for which everyone was preparing and waiting for so long. Nine courageous, talented, creative, charismatic young men from different faculties of the university competed for the title of “Mr. VSMU – 2022”. That evening, the hall was filled with a hot atmosphere. The audience did not hide their emotions: supporting the participants, they were singing and dancing.

A discussion on the student life of foreign students was held on Tuesday the 8th of November, at the interclub of Hostel No:1. It was conducted by the journalists of the local TV channel “Belarus-1” from Minsk, lead by Svetlana Borovskaya the host.

A few students representing India, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Turkmenistan and Lebanon clad in their traditional costumes took part in the programme, whilst Sinduja and Bhanuja from Sri lanka performed an eye-catching traditional dance. The discussion was followed by a showcase of their traditional sweetmeats which the guests thoroughly enjoyed.
