Events

A delegation of leading oncologists from the Vitebsk region participated in the II Eurasian Oncological Forum "Achievements of Science for Modern Oncology." The event was held at the N.N. Alexandrov Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Oncology and Medical Radiology.

Vitebsk State Medical University was represented by E.A. Shlyakhtunov, Chief Freelance Oncologist of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Head of the Department of Oncology with a course in the Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining at VSMU; and A.V. Prokoshin, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Oncology.

On October 28, 2025, a videoconference was held between the leadership of Vitebsk State Medical University and Shandong Higher College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Colleagues from the Chinese institution were welcomed by Denis Lits, Vice-rector of International Affairs and Organizational and Legal Work; Elena Sharykhina, Head of the Department of International and Interregional Affairs; and Anna Pchelintseva, Head of the Department of International Affairs.

The main outcome of the meeting was an agreement to launch a joint educational program in 2026, which was officially approved by the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China.

On October 28, 2025, at the SEE “Secondary School No. 1 named after V.F. Margelov in Novopolotsk”, a career guidance event was held for students in grades 9–11 of general secondary education institutions in Novopolotsk. The event was attended by Elena Gusakova, Dean of the Faculty of Preparatory Training Course at VSMU, and Lyubov Orekhova, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Preparatory Training Course.

During the meeting, students were introduced to admission opportunities at VSMU, with a particular focus on participation in university Olympiads in biology and chemistry, as well as the advantages of admission through targeted training programs.

These events aim to help young people make conscious decisions about their future specialties and to learn about the admission procedures and educational opportunities at VSMU.

On October 24, 2025, Gomel State Medical University hosted the final stage of the Republican Olympiad using simulation technologies in neurology and neurosurgery. Our university was represented by Anastasia Solovyova, a 6th-year student of the General Medicine Faculty, and Olga Zmushko, Anastasia Stepankova, and Yana Kaznovetskaya, 5th-year students of the General Medicine Faculty.
