New Year's greeting from the Rector of the University

Dear colleagues and students of the university!

I sincerely congratulate you on the coming year 2025 and Christmas!

The passing year of 2024 was full of various important events. We together with the whole country took an active part in the campaign to elect deputies to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly and local councils, represented VSMU worthily on one of the platforms of the XI Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus and, certainly, celebrated the 90th anniversary of the founding of Vitebsk State Order of Friendship of Peoples Medical University. I express my gratitude to each of you for creative labor, hard study, devotion to the chosen cause and contribution to the development of the University and our country.

I wish the coming year 2025 to be generous with new achievements, victories and breakthrough ideas; to present bright events and unforgettable impressions.

Always Saving Good: VSMU gives care and support to the inmates of Vitebsk regional orphanage

Within the framework of charity actions “Always Saving Good” and “Our Children” the administration of Vitebsk State Medical University visited Vitebsk Regional Specialized Orphanage.

The Rector of VSMU Aleksey Chukanov and the Vice-rector for ideological and educational work Dmitry Kuzhel handed over to the Head doctor of the institution Elena Mizerkina a certificate in the amount of 5000 rubles and hygiene products necessary for the little children.

Talking about important things in VSMU: Dialog platform within the framework of the information and education project “Youth for Belarus”

On December 27, 2024 the Dialogue platform within the framework of the informational and educational project “Youth for Belarus” of the deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Anatolievich Panfilov with the 2nd year students of the Faculty of Stomatology was held.

In an active dialog they discussed the issues of social development of our sovereign country over the past years and in the next 5 years, the election campaign, the role of youth at the present stage of development of our society.

The leitmotif of the meeting was that a person with the right beliefs and ideology will not lose his way in building our country!

Graduation of 3 specialties of retraining at the Faculty of Professional Development and Retraining of Personnel retraining

On December, 27, 2024, at the Faculty of Professional Development and Retraining of Personnel

graduation of 3 specialties of retraining took place. 42 listeners were trained,

of them by the order of practical health care -17 listeners, on an extrabudgetary basis - 25 listeners.

On specialty of retraining 9-09-0911-58 “Ultrasound diagnostics” -18 doctors of ultrasound diagnostics;

on retraining specialty 9-09-0911-02 “Anesthesiology and reanimatology” - 6 doctors of ultrasound diagnostics;

on retraining specialty 9-09-09-0912-01 “Management and economics in Pharmacy” - 18 organizing pharmacists.

Meeting of the University Council

On December 27, 2024 the meeting of the University Council was held in VSMU, where the following decisions were made:

on changing the number of groups at the Faculty of Dentistry,

on presentation of the applicant to the academic title,

on opening of the branch of the chair of infectious diseases with the course of FAT and PR,

elected by the competition for the positions of the heads of the departments: Environmental and Preventive Medicine - Natalia Miklis, Normal Physiology - Svetlana Lazuko, General Surgery - Leonid Frolov.
