As part of "Freshman Month," from September 24 to 30, VSMU hosted dialogue sessions led by Ksenia Sergeevna Berezovskaya, an operational officer from the Department of Internal Affairs of the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk, specializing in combating cybercrime. These sessions were held with first-year students from all faculties and focused on countering cybercrime and crime prevention.
On February 21, 2024, dialogue platforms with the participation of the 3rd year students of the Faculty of Medicine continued their work at VSMU. The speakers were the Vice-Rector for Educational Work Natalya Boltrushevich, the Deputy Dean for Educational Work of the Faculty of Medicine Olga Fedchuk.
On March 27, 2026, a meeting of the Board of the General Medicine Faculty was held. The agenda included several important issues related to the organization of the educational process and educational work. However, the most relevant and key issue was ensuring cybersecurity among faculty, staff, and students.
On October 9, 2023 the Republican Volunteer Center, in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Laboratory for Accelerating Sustainable Development, held a discussion platform on the basis of VSMU to collect proposals from young people to help achieve certain Sustainable Development Goals at the local level.

Vitebsk State Medical University is one of the most distinguished higher medical institutions in the Republic of Belarus. VSMU was established in 1934. Currently, more than 6 000 students and listeners are trained at the university, including foreign students from 30 countries all over the world studying at Overseas Students Training Faculty.
On March 31, 2026, the university hosted a methodological association of study group curators, attended by Dmitry Kuzhel, Vice-Rector of Ideological and Educational Work; Elena Sharykhina, Head of the Department for International and Interregional Relations; Lyudmila Somova, head of the Methodical Association; Inna Matsuk, methodologist; Margarita Orlova, Deputy Dean of the Overseas Students Training Faculty; and Victoria Mikhlyuk, Head of the Social– educational and psychological service.
VSMU is the first medical university of the Republic of Belarus, which has its own preparatory department abroad. The idea of preparatory departments or international educational centers of the university started up long ago, and came from the necessity of internationalization of medical education. At preparatory department students are trained according to the guidelines and programs of the university by qualified specialists of a foreign center-partner. Training lasts an academic year, with compulsory formative assessment. The members of the university admission committee conduct end-of-course assessment directly at the educational center. The results of assessment are equal to the results of entrance examinations and allow applicants to participate in the competition for admission to the Vitebsk State Medical University.
On March 20, 2026, at the XXXIII Minsk International Book Fair, a panel discussion titled "Constructor of Goodness: Collecting the Best Practices of Universities" was held.
On January 22, a dialogue platform “Electoral system of the Republic of Belarus. Single voting day”, which was attended by Vice-Rector of International Affairs and Organizational and Legal Work of VSMU Denis Lits, Vice-Rector of Educational Work Natalia Boltrushevich, Deputy Dean of Educational Work of General Medicine Faculty Olga Fedchuk, Vice-Rector of Educational Work of VSU named after. P.M. Masherov Svetlana Kostyukova, General Director of Vitebsk Trade and Production Republican Unitary Enterprise “Pharmacia” Ekaterina Boriseevich, representatives of LLC “VitVar”, VSTU, VSMU team.
