International Forum “Current Issues in Infectious Diseases” 19-20 November 2026

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to participate in the International Forum “Current Issues in Infectious Diseases”, which will be held on 19-20 November 2026 at Vitebsk State Medical University, in accordance with Order No. 13-18/6368 of the Ministry of Health dated 27 March 2026.

The Forum will address issues related to the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of viral hepatitis; hepatobiliary disorders; respiratory and intestinal infections; neuroinfections; parasitic, fungal, zoonotic and tropical infections; as well as many other relevant topics. As part of the Forum, a number of sessions will focus on current issues in the development of biological products for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases using modern molecular genetic technologies.

Meeting of VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov with university students undergoing final internship in special military training

On July 22, 2026, VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov visited the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, where he met with university students undergoing final practical training in special military training.

During the visit, Alexey Nikolaevich got acquainted with the living conditions of future officers in the military unit, and also examined the educational facilities involved in conducting practical exercises.

On July 22, 2026, an open meeting of the admission committee of Vitebsk State Medical University was held online, dedicated to the enrollment of applicants for budget places.

During the event, candidates were identified for admission to the first year of the general medical, stomatologital, pediatrics and pharmaceutical faculties, who will study at the expense of the republican budget.

Approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 95rp dated July 20, 2026 (https://president.gov.by/ru/documents/rasporazenie-no-95rp-ot-20-iula-2026-g ) the decision of the Council of the special fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the support of gifted and talented youth, promising projects.

The decree of the Head of State is aimed at identifying and supporting the most motivated and gifted youth, creating favorable conditions for their successful studies, scientific and creative activities, and stimulating the professional growth of teachers.
