VSMU at the V Regular Reporting and Election Conference of the Vitebsk City Organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society

The fifth regular reporting and election conference of the Vitebsk City Organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society was held at the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.

The conference was attended by V.S. Glushanko, Chairman of the Red Cross Department of the Vitebsk State Medical University, and T.N. Kovalevskaya, Secretary of the Red Cross Department of the same university. The agenda included summarizing the organization’s work over the past period, defining key objectives for the future, electing new members to the governing bodies, and an award ceremony for the organization’s assets and partners. According to the VSMU Red Cross, the organization was recognized as one of the best.

“Mr. VSMU-2025” Competition Program

On December 3, 2025, one of the most exciting events in the life of Vitebsk State Medical University took place at the Vitebsk Concert Hall—the talent and creativity show "Mr. VSMU-2025."

This year's competition marked a real revival, transforming into a large-scale theatrical event united by a single overarching concept inspired by the Matrix.

Visit of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Lucerne to Vitebsk State Medical University

On December 3, 2025, Hermann Alexander Beyeler, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Lucerne (Switzerland), paid a working visit to Vitebsk State Medical University.

The guest was welcomed by Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee; Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Health Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee; Alexey Chukanov, Rector of VSMU; Denis Lits, Vice-Rector of International Affairs and Organizational and Legal Work; as well as heads of the university’s international departments: Elena Sharyhina, Head of the Department of International and Interregional Affairs, and Anna Pchelintseva, Head of the Department of International Affairs.

VSMU is the leader of medical education in Belarus in the international ranking of "Three University Missions"

vsmu In the prestigious international ranking (https://mosiur.org/ranking/), "Three University Missions" for 2025 confirms that Vitebsk State Medical University has maintained its high status:

1st place among medical universities in Belarus;
2nd place among all universities in the country represented in the ranking.

The ranking includes 2,000 leading universities from 112 countries worldwide.

This achievement directly reflects VSMU's efforts to strengthen international cooperation with educational institutions in Russia and abroad, thereby enhancing its scientific and educational potential.

Sports competitions at the Faculty of Preparatory Training Course

On November 29, 2025, the gyms of VSMU became the center of international student sports — two competitions took place simultaneously, involving students from the Faculty of Preparatory Training Course.

The mini-football championship was contested by teams from the Lebanese community. The tournament was dedicated to a national holiday — Lebanon’s Independence Day. In a tense and exciting struggle, where every victory was hard-fought, the honorable first place was awarded to the Lebanese Cedar team.
