On May 6, 2025, in accordance with the work plan of scientific-educational cluster “Medicine and Pharmacy - innovative projects”, on the threshold of celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War and the day of the State Emblem, State Flag and State Anthem of the Republic of Belarus in VSMU the dialogue platform “National symbols of Belarus” was held.

On May 6, 2025, the representatives of VSMU took part in the live broadcast of the project “Your Choice” on “Radio Vitebsk”. Yaroslav Perevalov, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Elena Gusakova, the Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, Dean of the Faculty of Pre-University Training, and Kira Shuverova, the 5th year student, discussed key aspects of admission and study at VSMU.

On May 6, 2025, on the eve of the landmark date for the whole Belarusian people - the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, a solemn planting of the Apple Tree Alley of Memory took place at Vitebsk State Medical University.

Ten young saplings symbolizing life, connection of generations and eternal gratitude to the heroes were planted on the territory of the university.

The Rector Alexey Chukanov, the representatives of administration, the public and student organizations of the university took part in the event.

Exhibition-presentation of the combined local history database of the VSMU library “Teachers of Vitebsk Medical Institute on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War” as a living project-memorial to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, will take place in the Art Gallery of the library from May 6, 2025.

80 years ago the Great Patriotic War ended. Huge suffering and losses it brought to our people. Dozens of destroyed cities, thousands of burnt villages, millions of ruined lives...
