Navarathri poojai 01The Navarathri poojai 2022 was held at the hostel No.2 Akthovizal on Saturday the 1st of October, 2022. It was organized by the Medical Students’ Hindu Society, of the Sri Lankan Medical Students’ Union.

The Pooja is held in order to celebrate and worship goddesses who are responsible for 3 aspects in a person’s life; Goddess Durga who is for bravery, Goddess Lakshmi for riches and Goddess Saraswati for education. Navarathri Poojai is observed by Hindus for 9 days from 26th September to 5th October.

Participation of foreign students of VSMU in a charity event dedicated to the International Day of the Elderly

charity event 01On the 30th of September, for the first time, a few members of the Sri Lankan dance group "Mixfeeds" were honored to take part in the event "Life in the Style of Dance" organized by the State Institution "Territorial Center for Social Services for the Population of the Pervomaisky District of Vitebsk". The event was filled with a variety of colorful and energetic performances from the Belarusian elders. "Mixfeeds" contributed to the event with a bollywood performance that ended with a roaring applaud from the senior audience.

Students of the Overseas Students Training Faculty at the “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”

On July 17, 2022, students of the Overseas Students Training Faculty from Nigeria, Ghana and Sri Lanka took part in the closing ceremony of the XXXI International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”. For the first time, foreign students performed on the stage of the amphitheater with famous Belarusian and Russian stars in the prologue “We are the world”.
