On July 22, 2026, VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov visited the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, where he met with university students undergoing final practical training in special military training.
During the visit, Alexey Nikolaevich got acquainted with the living conditions of future officers in the military unit, and also examined the educational facilities involved in conducting practical exercises.

VSMU students, members of the primary organization of the Belarusian State State Medical University Red Cross Society, worked daily to make the rest of the residents and guests of the city not only bright, but also safe! As part of the festival, VSMU students were on duty together with Red Cross instructors and an ambulance team. During the large-scale seven-hour music show, the crew on duty provided the necessary first aid to the population on the site.
On July 18, 2026, VSMU hosted a working meeting between University Rector Alexey Chukanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Ignatius Graham Mudzimba.
The meeting took place within the framework of the diplomat's visit to Vitebsk and was devoted to the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of higher medical education and healthcare.
