On the eve of Victory Day, the trade union organization of employees of Vitebsk State Medical University, together with the university administration, the primary organization "Belarusian Union of Women" of VSMU and the Council of Veterans, visited young prisoners of the Great Patriotic War and veterans of VSMU with congratulations on Victory Day and gifts from public organizations: Mikhail Alexandrovich Nikolsky (professor, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of VSMU), Lydia Grigorievna Savelyeva (an employee of the administrative and economic unit), as well as Gennady Aleksandrovich Khobotov, a child of the war.

On May 5, 2026, the art gallery of the VSMU Library hosted the opening of the exhibition of graphic works by Honored Artist of Belarus Ivan Mikhailovich Stolyarov "Guerrilla Warfare" from the collections of the cultural institution Vitebsk Regional Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union M.F.Shmyrev.

The student team of Vitebsk State Medical University won 1st place in swimming competitions among the teams of institutions of higher and secondary special education of the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk.

The team consists of Vera Nitievskaya (1st year, Stomatological Faculty), Olga Drozdova (1st year, General Medicine Faculty), Vladislav Semenov (2nd year, General Medicine Faculty), Nikita Chebotarev (2nd year, General Medicine Faculty).

On May 4-5, 2026, athletics competitions were held in Vitebsk as part of the Spartakiad of higher education institutions in the city. A team of students from Vitebsk State Medical University took part in the competition.

According to the results of the competition, the VSMU national team won the 3rd place, demonstrating a high level of preparation, the will to win and team spirit.

On April 30, 2026, the Republican Olympiad of Students with international participation "First Aid", conducted using simulation technologies, ended at GrSMU.

On the first day of the competition, the Vitebsk State Medical University team successfully competed in a theoretical test. On the second day, the participants demonstrated impeccable mastery of practical skills and were able to compete with experienced competitors.
