A student of VSMU reached the final of the national selection of the Vitebsk-2026 competition

On January 23, 2026, the second stage of the selection process for the XXXV International Competition of Young Pop Song Performers was held at the Youth Variety Theater. Participants presented two compositions to the jury: "Slavic Hit" and a popular song in a foreign language.

The highlight of this qualifying round was the success of Ekaterina Dyakova, a student at Vitebsk State Medical University and a member of the folk pop song studio Tandem (headed by E.V. Palagot).

Among 39 vocalists from across Belarus, Ekaterina performed her program brilliantly and secured a spot in the top ten, earning the right to participate in the final of the national selection.

The opening ceremony of the competition among faculty, staff, and representatives of the VSMU veterans' organization took place on January 26, 2026.

On January 26, 2026, Yuri Anatolyevich Panfilov, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Industry, Energy, Transport, Communications, and Digital Development of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, met with the staff of VSMU at Vitebsk State Medical University.

University Council Meeting

On January 23, 2026, a meeting of the University Council was held. During the meeting, the Diploma of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus for 3rd place in the review competition for the best military department of higher education institutions in the 2024/2025 academic year was awarded to the military department. Additionally, diplomas were awarded for diligence and distinction in service, achievements in professional activities, and demonstrated reasonable initiative to: Lieutenant Colonel of Medical Service Tatiana Aksinushkina and Lieutenant Colonel of Medical Service Arseniy Tsygankov
