1On 16 May 2019, Indian Ambassador, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to the Republic of Belarus, Mrs. Sanghita Bahadur, paid a visit to VSMU.

During this visit, Ms. Ambassador got acquainted with arrangement and material and technical facilities of our university, the organization of educational process in the departments of human anatomy and clinical microbiology, visited the anatomical museum.

On October 18, 2023 at 14.00 in the conference hall of the main academic building at a meeting of the University Council, an associate professor of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Ph.D. Bizunkova A.B. will be nominated for the academic title of associate professor in the specialty “Medicine”.

On February 12, 2024 at 14.00 in the conference hall of the main academic building at a meeting of the University Council there will be a presentation by the associate professor of the branch of the departments of anesthesiology and resuscitation with the course of FAT and PR and hospital surgery with the course of FAT and PR, Ph.D. Lipnitsky A.L. to the academic rank of associate professor in the specialty “Medicine”.

The President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, spoke about continuity and the preservation of cultural heritage, saying:  "A lot now depends on how united we are and how much we want to live on our land. Therefore, everyone will do their part to live, work, build, and modernize here..."

As part of the innovative project "Restoration of Churches in Vitebsk Region," students and staff of VSMU participated in a charitable event dedicated to Unity Day and the Year of Improvement. The activity involved cleaning the territory and the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located in the village of Svecha, Beshankovichi District, Vitebsk Region.

It is worth noting that in 2025, VSMU actively implements student initiatives aimed at improving the university and the student campus area, memorials of the Great Patriotic War, and architectural monuments. The VSMU project to raise public awareness about the restoration of objects of historical and spiritual heritage, as well as the development of cultural and educational tourism, is one of these initiatives.

From June 24 to July 14, 2024, the entrance to the MTB will be closed due to the start of the admission campaign at the university. Traffic along the transition of the 2nd floor from the morphological building to the MTB will also be closed; the movement of workers and students will be carried out through the transition of the 3rd floor from the morphological building to the MTB (through the departments of topographic anatomy and the Russian language of the FOST) and the emergency stairs of the MTB. The elevator in the MTB will also be disabled. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
