Rector of VSMU A.T. Shchastniy visits BelSU, Belgorod

On 26 – 27 April 2018, the rector of VSMU Professor A.T. Shchastniy visited Belgorod State National Research University (BelSU). BelSU is one of the leading universities in the Russian Federation, which consists of 7 institutes, 3 faculties and 2 branches. At the moment, more than 24,000 students from 85 regions of the Russian Federation and 79 countries of the world study at BelSU with more than 1,700 faculty members involved in training process.

On July 25, 2025, Rector of VSMU, member of the Presidium of the City Council of Deputies Aleksey Chukanov took part in the meeting of delegations of Smolensk and Vitebsk City Councils of Deputies.

During the visit, promising areas of cooperation in the framework of improving the training of medical personnel and organizing the provision of medical care were discussed.

Regarding the work of the international pharmaceutical innovation camp "FILIN - 2016"

It has been the fourth year when fifth-year students take part in an international pharmaceutical innovation camp "FILIN", which took place in Yaroslavl from 23 to 30 September 2016. 30 students from profession-oriented universities of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan gathered together to participate in this international forum. The representatives of VSMU were fifth-year students of Pharmaceutical Faculty Chabotko A.S. and Korobeiko M.S.

A regional contest for awards from Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee among young scientists in 2023 has been announced.

The competition is held in the following competitive sections:

fundamental research – 3 awards;
applied research and development – 4 awards, including for achievement of high results in economy and frugality - 1 award.

On March 24, 2026, the regional stage of the republican contest "All-Belarusian League of Debates" took place.

Representatives of the Aristotle Debate Club of VSMU demonstrated their skills in persuasion, logic, and public speaking during both the qualifying round and the final game.

Registration and issuance of contracts on targeted training continues at VSMU

Vitebsk State Medical University is actively continuing the process of registration and issuance of contracts for targeted training in all specialties, the customer of which is the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.

Report and Election Conference of the VSMU Student Council

On June 1, 2026, the reporting and election conference of the VSMU Student Council was held, which was attended by delegates from the university's faculties.

During the event, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elena Asirian noted the importance of the student council in the structure of student government, thanked the students for their contribution to the university's social activities and assistance in the implementation of youth projects and initiatives.

Report on the International scientific and practical conference with international participation "Medical education of the XXI century: information computer technologies in the training of medical personnel"

On December 23, 2021, the international scientific and practical conference "Medical education of the 21st century: information computer technologies in the training of medical personnel" was held at the university in the ONLINE-broadcast mode.

The objectives of the conference were:

• improving the use of electronic learning management systems in institutions of higher and secondary specialized medical education;

• summarizing the experience of using e-learning and distance learning technologies in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic;

• the use of information and communication technologies in the process of implementing educational programs for additional adult education, preparing individuals for admission to educational institutions, and in the educational process.
