From 1 January to 31 March 2019 the project competition to improve the educational process "85 Anniversary of VSMU" is held in VSMU.
The main purpose of the competition is to attract talented young people to the university's educational activities.
The competition is open to students, graduate students, clinical residents and lecturers of VSMU.
The goal of the competition is to include the potential of young people in solving socially significant problems of our time. By creating and implementing creative projects on the basis of VSMU, young people affirm a healthy, active position towards life and family, popularize traditional family values, a healthy lifestyle, citizenship and patriotism. The organizers of the competition are the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Orthodox Church, and the Pokrov Charitable Foundation for the Support of Family, Motherhood and Childhood.
Within the framework of realization of the Republican contest of social youth projects “Youth of Belarus for life, morality and family values” the students of groups 3 and 4 of the 1st year of pediatric faculty and group 32 of the 1st year of medical faculty presented unique excursion routes “Restored temples of Vitebsk”, “Five temples - five destinies. Temples of Vitebsk region”.
460 VSMU students took part in the "Letter to Great-grandfather" project, among them are the authors of particularly sincere letters: Tatiana Yushkevich (3rd PhF, 3rd group), Victoria Zhuk (2nd PhF, 5th group) and the students of the 11th group of the 1st year of the Faculty of Medicine. Based on the results of the republican project "Letter to Great-grandfather", the DEWwY NIHE has prepared a catalog of the best works by the students of the Republic of Belarus. On February 2, 2024, the scientific and educational school for students with international participation completed its work at VSMU: “Hereditary information and ways of its implementation. Hereditary diseases, basic diagnostic methods."
In September 21-23,2018, the Second International Dental Congress Dentsply Sirona World CIS was held in the Moscow International House of Music. This Congress united more than 1200 specialists of dental profile in all directions: prevention, restoration, endodontic treatment, implantology, including a separate unit for clinic effective management. During 3 days, world-known professionals presented clinical lectures and talked about current issues in modern dentistry - from preventive care to implant dentistry. Separate sessions were devoted to orthodontics, dental prosthetics and digitalized dentistry.
From 27 to 29 October, 2017 in the city of Zelenogorsk near St. Petersburg, the VII International Chemico-Olympic Games (HOI) was held, which was traditionally organized by St. Petersburg State Chemical and Pharmaceutical Academy (SPCPA). For the second consecutive year, the organizers invite the VSMU team to participate in the HOI.
Our team was represented by the students of the Pharmaceutical Faculty Anastasia Yezerskaya (the leader of the team), Maria Potapenko, Yevgenia Gruchenkova, Yevgeniy Terekhov, Alesya Baran, Kristina Gatalskaya, Victoria Zaytseva, Aleksandr Yurkevich, Maria Statkevich, Victoria Garashchuk.
On September 30, 2025, a meeting and signing of agreements on cooperation and networking in the implementation of educational programs took place between Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University and Minsk State Medical College.
Rector of the University Alexey Chukanov and Vice-Rector of International Affairs and Organizational and Legal Work Denis Lits represented VSMU at the meeting.
The team of VSMU employees became the prize-winner of the regional tournament on winter fishing among health care workers.
Competitions were held on March 4, 2025, on the basis of tourist and recreation complex “Losvido”. The organizer of the event was the specialized trade union.
