On March 20, 2024, a reporting and election conference of the primary trade union organization of VSMU employees was held at VSMU.

The conference was attended by the chief legal labor inspector of the Vitebsk regional organization of the BUHW, the first Vice-rector of VSMU Alina Shchupakova, the Vice-rector for international relations and organizational and legal work Denis Lits, the Vice-rector for educational work Dmitry Kuzhel, and the members of the VSMU trade union.

From May 22 to May 24, 2026, the XV Olympic Chemical Games were held, organized by the St. Petersburg State University of Chemistry and Pharmacy. 4th year students of the Pharmaveutical Faculty of VSMU Sivaya Karina, Buksova Ekaterina and Shutkova Alina took an active part in them.

The program of the event included team trials, an intellectual quiz, a case championship from employers, a sports competition "Race of Heroes", as well as creative team numbers and a captain's competition.

On June10, 2025, in Minsk the Republican seminar for vice-rectors on ideological and educational work of higher education establishments ‘Management of educational process: quality and efficiency’ was held under the guidance of the Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Ekaterina Petrutskaya.

Dmitry Kuzhel, the vice-rector for ideological and educational work of VSMU, took part in the seminar. Within the framework of the event the topical issues of improving the quality of educational work, introduction of modern methods and effective management of the processes of forming the world outlook of the student youth were discussed.

On September 5, 2025, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Organizational-Legal Work at Vitebsk State Medical University, Denis Lis, participated in a republican instructional and methodological seminar-meeting for leaders of higher education institutions titled "Innovations in Educational Activity Licensing."

The event, organized by the Ministry of Education and the Department for Quality Assurance in Education, was held at the Republican Institute of Higher School and focused on recent changes in the regulatory and legal framework, as well as key aspects of the licensing procedure.

Staff and students of the university continued working on the VSMU project “Restoration of Churches in the Vitebsk Region,” which is being carried out in the agro-town of Svecha, Beshenkovichi District, Vitebsk Region. They participated in a charitable event to clean the church.

The project aims to draw public attention to the restoration of historical heritage sites, promote cultural and educational tourism, and preserve Orthodox spiritual traditions. It is one of the student initiatives implemented at Vitebsk State Medical University during the Year of Improvement.
