On May 13, 2025, the vocational guidance meeting of the University representatives with pupils of the profile class of medical orientation of the State Educational Establishment “Secondary school No. 2 of Postavy named after N.M. Osenenko”, organized by the Faculty of pre-university training of VSMU, took place.
A volunteer project is being carried out as part of the educational and preventive program "Healthy Smile for Children," guided by Associate Professor Zharkova O.A. from the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, who also leads courses in Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining. The project is implemented at Preschool No. 59 by students from the Stomatological Faculty. The program currently serves 40 preschoolers.
Vitebsk State Medical University is not only actively present in the media landscape but also actively shaping it. Staff and students regularly become the main featured guests on reputable television and radio programs, where they discuss education and science in accessible language, share innovations, and provide useful information.
On September 2, 2025, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Legal Affairs Denis Lits, Dean of the Pharmaceutical Faculty Valentina Kugach, and fifth-year pharmacy student Pavel Pashkevich participated in a live broadcast of the project "Your Choice" on "Radio Vitebsk."
On April 4, 2026, the State Educational EStablishment "Polotsk State Gymnasium No. 1 named after F. Skariny" hosted a career guidance event, the "Target Training Fair," for students of general secondary education institutions in Polotsk and the Polotsk district. The event aimed to familiarize prospective applicants with opportunities for admission through targeted training.
On June 16, 2026, VSMU hosted an important meeting of the university's leadership with a delegation from the School of Acupuncture and Moxotherapy of Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (PRC). The main outcome of the negotiations was the signing of an agreement on the joint submission of an application within the framework of the key special program "Intergovernmental international cooperation in the field of scientific and technical innovations" between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China.
On April 2, 2026, Alexey Chukanov, Rector of Vitebsk State Medical University, held a working meeting with Alexey Shcherbinsky, Director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Medical Technologies, Informatization, Management, and Economics of Healthcare.
Following negotiations between the two institutions, a cooperation agreement was signed. This document outlines the joint activities of the parties in the educational, scientific, and social spheres. The partnership aims to provide scientific and methodological support for VSMU's activities and to address tasks related to modernizing and informatizing the healthcare system of the Republic of Belarus.
On August 29, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Organizational-Legal Work, Denis Lits, and Dean of the Pre-University Training Faculty, Elena Gusakova, participated in the August pedagogical conference, which brought together over 200 representatives of educational institutions, parents, and students.
The conference summarized the achievements in the field of education, identified key successes and challenges faced by educational institutions, and discussed the role of regional initiatives in improving the quality of education.
One of the most significant moments of the conference was the agreement to open three medical classes in general secondary education institutions in Vitebsk district. This presents a unique opportunity for students to receive high-quality education in the chemical-biological profile and to prepare for their future careers.
On July 17, 2025, the delegation of VSMU took part in the festival of women's initiatives “Slavic aspect of women's entrepreneurship: opportunities and prospects”, where more than 200 participants from Belarus and Russia joined forces in searching for new ideas for developing relations and ways to implement them.
VSMU presented an exhibition of scientific achievements, which aroused the active interest of the festival guests.
On September 25, 2025, the International Forum on a Healthy Lifestyle and the XII Republican Universal Exhibition-Fair "Live Healthy" took place in Orsha.
Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2, Vera Potapova, actively participated in the section titled "Disease Prevention in Adults and Children: Modern Approaches." She presented reports on "Immunoprophylaxis of Respiratory Infectious Diseases" and "Monitoring and Nutrition of Preterm Infants in Outpatient Settings."
