VSMU continues to implement the joint educational project of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, "Start the Heart," for 10th-grade students.

Classes are held every Saturday at the university's simulation and certification center, under the guidance of experienced specialists.

VSMU Delegation at the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference on "Modern and Topical Issues of Pediatrics"

On September 26, 2025, Minsk hosted the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation titled "Modern and Topical Issues of Pediatrics," dedicated to the memory of Academician A.V. Sukalo.

The conference was attended by Tatiana Ryabova, Dean of the Pediatric Faculty, presenting a report on "Sudden Infant Death Syndrome," and Lyudmila Zhuravleva, Head of the Department of Pediatrics № 2 with a course in the Faculty of Advanced Training and Retraining, presenting on "Predictors of Complicated Pneumonia in Newborns."

VSMU delegation at the XXXIII Minsk International Book Fair

From March 17 to March 22, 2026, the XXXIII Minsk International Book Fair was held at the BelExpo National Exhibition Center, with the participation of staff and students from VSMU.

Visitors to the exhibition showed particular interest in the "Youth Policy" section (the "Educational Quarter" site). This area featured thematic entertainment and educational activities, including patriotic board games, a quiz dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman, and master classes such as "Soldier's Envelope" and "Flowers for My Beloved Mother."

VSMU employees team – the winner of the II stage of the open championship in intellectual games for the cup of the Belarusian Trade Union of Health Workers

The intellectual tournament was held on January 26 at Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital and brought together about sixty participants. The event was organized by Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Health Workers. As part of ten teams, representatives of healthcare institutions from Vitebsk, Orsha, Braslav, Novopolotsk, as well as Lepel region entered the fight for the right to be considered the best experts.

The competition program included 4 rounds: “Media ABC”, “Oil Painting”, “Blitz Game”, “Quiz”. The players answered questions related to the professional sphere, trade union topics, and works of art.

VSMU has a leading position amongst the universities of the Republic of Belarus in The Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2021

According to the latest list ranking released by the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2021, VSMU has been ranked 601-800, taking the leading position amongst the universities in the Republic of Belarus (GRSMU ranked 801-1000, BSUIR – 1000+). The results are published on the website https://www.timeshighereducation.com. The overall ranking includes 1,117 universities from 94 countries/regions.

VSMU hosts a training project for schoolchildren "Start the heart"

Vitebsk State Medical University is implementing a joint educational project by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, called "Start the Heart", aimed at 10th-grade students in general secondary education institutions.

This year, the organizers have decided to significantly expand the training program. In addition to basic skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, students will now learn first aid algorithms for common everyday incidents: injuries, fractures, and bleeding.

VSMU in the "Your Choice" project

On April 7, 2026, the VSMU delegation was a guest on the live broadcast of the project "Your Choice" on Radio Vitebsk.

Participants included Marina Fomina, Dean of the General Medicine Faculty; Elena Gusakova, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee and Dean of the Faculty of Preparatory Training Course; and Alexey Ostrovsky, Chairman of the Student Council of the General Medicine Faculty.
