On March 27, 2026, student activists of VSMU, together with university staff, organized an off-site event titled "Getting to Know Your Homeland — Getting to Know Yourself."
As part of the planned visit, VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov toured the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, as well as Hospital Surgery with Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining courses based at Mogilev Regional Hospital, and the Department of Infectious Diseases with Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining courses based at Mogilev Hospital No. 1. The purpose was to review documentation, establish cooperation with the institutional administration, and assess the relevance of curricula and programs in line with modern scientific developments.
On April 5, 2019, the traditional annual international scientific-practical conference "Vitebsk Dermatological Readings: Evidence-Based Medicine in Dermatology and Venereology" was held at Vitebsk State Medical University. This forum was attended by 270 dermatovenerologists and cosmetologists, general practitioners, representatives of various therapeutic specialties (rheumatology, allergology, endocrinology), pediatricians and oncologists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Slovenia, Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland.
On June 27, 2025, the volunteer group "Kind Heart" of the "BRYU" of the Vitebsk State Medical University took part in the cultural and educational patriotic action "Train of Memory".
For its 200 participants, descendants of the winners, representatives of the peoples of the 15 former republics of the Soviet Union, who won in 1945 the victory over Nazism, - this is not just a journey, but a symbol of the commonality of history and the continuity of generations.
The first stop of the route was Brest, then Grodno, Minsk, Gomel and now Vitebsk. The Train participants were given a fascinating tour of our beautiful city, during which they were able to get acquainted with the history and culture of Vitebsk.
From March 12 to March 16, 2025, the delegation of VSMU takes part in the Minsk International Book Fair.
More than 500 exhibits from 21 countries are presented at the exhibition. There is an opportunity to get acquainted with cultural, literary traditions of the EAEU member countries united by a common theme - the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
As part of the implementation of the Concept for the Development of Export of Educational Services, VSMU is actively working to promote educational services to foreign markets.
The university trains, specializes, and improves the qualifications of medical and pharmaceutical personnel arriving from near and far abroad.
The university's active work in developing the export of educational services has allowed it to achieve recognition and become a finalist of the prestigious Republican competition "Best Exporter of 2023".
On May 13, 2025, the vocational guidance meeting of the University representatives with pupils of the profile class of medical orientation of the State Educational Establishment “Secondary school No. 2 of Postavy named after N.M. Osenenko”, organized by the Faculty of pre-university training of VSMU, took place.
A volunteer project is being carried out as part of the educational and preventive program "Healthy Smile for Children," guided by Associate Professor Zharkova O.A. from the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, who also leads courses in Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining. The project is implemented at Preschool No. 59 by students from the Stomatological Faculty. The program currently serves 40 preschoolers.
Vitebsk State Medical University is not only actively present in the media landscape but also actively shaping it. Staff and students regularly become the main featured guests on reputable television and radio programs, where they discuss education and science in accessible language, share innovations, and provide useful information.
On September 2, 2025, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Legal Affairs Denis Lits, Dean of the Pharmaceutical Faculty Valentina Kugach, and fifth-year pharmacy student Pavel Pashkevich participated in a live broadcast of the project "Your Choice" on "Radio Vitebsk."
