Meeting of VSMU rector Alexey Chukanov with participants of the international sports festival “Physical culture and sports - the second profession of a doctor”

On February 21, 2024, a meeting was held between the rector of the Vitebsk State Medical University Alexey Chukanov and the vice-rector for educational work Natalya Boltrushevich with athletes representing VSMU at the international sports festival “Physical culture and sports - the second profession of a doctor,” which was held from February 14 to 18 in Volgograd (Russian Federation ).

Meeting of VSMU students with the State Car Inspector of the Department of Technical Supervision and Prevention of the Road Police of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee

On September 28, in the framework of the Safety Week in VSMU and the Unified Road Safety Day, students of the 2nd course of the medical faculty met with the State Inspector of the Department of Technical Supervision and Prevention of the Traffic Ministry of the Department of Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee M.A.Isofatova on the topics «On the prevention of road accidents», «Accident prevention using personal mobility devices», “Reflective elements”.

Meeting Slovakia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary

The delegation of Slovakia headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary Mr. Joseh Migash paid a snap visit to Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University on March 30, 2016. The Rector of VSMU Professor A. T. Shchastniy, Vice-rector of Educational Work and International Affairs Professor N.Y. Konevalova, Vice-rector of Ideological Affairs O.A. Syrodoyeva and Head of Department on International Affairs M. M. Savchuk, Candidate of Medical Science, took part in the meeting with the Ambassador and his party. Foreign diplomats’ visit consisted in becoming acquainted with our university, to meet and discuss with university’s administration the opportunities of future straight scientific and academic cooperation. The Ambassador expressed his personal wish to promote the consolidation of friendly and business relationships between VSMU and medical universities in Slovakia.

Meeting with the Ambassador of India

On 16 November, 2017, a meeting of Indian students’ community with the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Belarus Mr. Pankaj Saksena was held. During this meeting, the issues of training of foreign citizens at VSMU and living conditions of Indian students were discussed. The problems voiced by the students were considered during the meeting of Mr. Pankaj Saksena with the VSMU administration. Plans and strategies of further cooperation between India and the Republic of Belarus in the field of science, medicine and education were also discussed.

Meeting with Young Specialists and Interns of Healthcare Institutions of the Brest Region

On September 16, 2025, a delegation from Vitebsk State Medical University, led by Rector Alexey Chukanov, visited the Brest Region as part of ongoing work with young specialists and interns. The purpose of the visit was to meet with university graduates who recently started working in the healthcare institutions of the region.

During an open and focused discussion, representatives of the university administration talked with the young doctors about their first steps in the profession, conditions of adaptation in new workplaces, specificities of their work, and everyday issues.

Meeting-Dialogue “Family – the National Wealth of Belarus” within the Family Week Program

On September 16, 2025, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted a meeting-dialogue between university students and Inna Kostyukovich, head of the Vitebsk Diocesan Center for Maternity, Childhood, and Family Values “Umilenie.”

The main topic of the meeting with first-year students was the important role of the family in the development of the individual, society, and the state. During the discussion, issues such as love for relatives and close ones, marital fidelity, the value of human life, as well as the moral education of future doctors, were addressed.

Meetings with First-year Students of the Overseas Students Training Faculty

Traditionally, at the beginning of the academic year, meetings are held between the university administration and first-year international students.

The Dean of FOST, Vyacheslav Pobyarzhin, the Vice-Rector of International Affairs and Organizational and Legal Work, Denis Lits, and staff from the Dean's Office met with the FOST students.

Methodological association of curators of study groups was held at VSMU

On October 2-3, 2024, a methodological association of curators of study groups was held at VSMU. The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work Dmitry Kuzhel, the Head of the Methodological Association of Curators Olga Fedchuk, the Head of the SPPS Victoria Mikhlyuk, the Methodologist of the Department for Ideological and Educational Work Inna Matsuk, the Detective Officer of the Department for Combating Cybercrimes of the Oktyabrsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Vitebsk Ksenia Berezovskaya.

Miss VSMU - 2016

Just incredible turned out the Sunday evening on October 30, which was perhaps the most graceful and elegant contest of the entire festival program - "Miss VSMU - 2016". The most gentle, bright, courageous and charming girls of our university gathered on one scene. This year not only the Belarusian students, but the girls from Sri Lanka and Nigeria claimed their rights for the "VSMU First Lady" title. Special boxes to vote for the "Audience Choice Award" have been installed in the lobby.
